Akash Apte

Akash is a multi-instrumentalist and singer in DC. He’s played with local and touring bands in DC over the past few years, and has experience teaching private lessons across numerous genres, including rock, blues, funk, classicaljazz, and even Bollywood.

As a teacher, Akash designs his classes around student’s goals and musical preferences. While he relies on proven resources to guide lessons, he enhances core concepts through songs that they enjoy playing – not just songs prescribed by books. He has 10 years of formal classical guitar training, as well as over 15 years of experience exploring other genres through various online resources. He also has experience playing the piano for over 10 years, being entirely self-taught, and has taught several beginner piano students.

Since moving to DC in 2017, Akash has gigged at various local venues with local and touring groups. He holds a degree in Government from Georgetown University, where he took several classes in Music and Audio Recording, while being immersed in the musical community.
