Alice Ashworth
Piano & Voice
Alice was enrolled in the Suzuki piano method at age 4 and her parents encouraged her to sing early in life. At the age of 9, she started learning to play the French horn. Throughout her grade school years, Alice participated in multiple musical theater performances, concert and marching bands, and honor choirs. She studied music at the University of Maryland, College Park where she served in leadership positions in music honor society Tau Beta Sigma and the Mighty Sound of Maryland Marching Band. Now, Alice performs and teaches as a professional vocalist, keyboard, and horn player all around the DMV. She has written original music for, performed with, and produced and edited music videos for funk Wammie nominee Strangers That Clique. She currently sings and plays trumpet and keys with award winning musician and climate activist, Joshua Long, and is working on a climate justice themed album of her original music. This year, she will sing for her 12th year running with a cappella holiday carolers, Joyous Voices. Alice’s love of music and desire to keep learning fun keeps students coming back, excited to develop their skills.
